We are looking for an empathetic and dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and nurturing team at a mainstream primary school in Darwen. This rewarding role will involve working closely with students who face social, emotional, and mental health challenges, helping them access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop essential life skills.

Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs, both in and outside the classroom.
* Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and emotional development.
* Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies and intervention plans.
* Work alongside teachers to create an inclusive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
* Monitor and record students' progress and wellbeing, providing regular updates to the teaching team and parents.
* Promote a calm and positive classroom environment, helping children manage their emotions and behaviour.
The Ideal Candidate
* Experience working with children with SEMH or additional learning needs (preferred but not essential).
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
* Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure, responding effectively to challenging situations.
* A relevant qualification in education or childcare (e.g., Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) is desirable, though not essential.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
