Overview
A well-established company specializing in large-scale energy infrastructure projects is looking for a Tender Engineer. This role focuses on preparing bids for renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects, particularly in Electrical Balance of Plant (EBoP) and civil engineering. The successful candidate will analyze project requirements, develop cost estimates, and coordinate with various teams to create competitive and high-quality proposals.
Key Responsibilities
* Tender Preparation: Lead and contribute to bid development for renewable energy, utility, and infrastructure projects.
* Technical Review: Analise project specifications, drawings, and requirements to assess scope, risks, and costs.
* Cost Estimation: Work alongside estimators to determine costs for electrical systems, substations, cabling, and related civil works.
* Supplier & Contractor Coordination: Gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors while ensuring compliance with project needs.
* Risk & Strategy Analysis: Identify potential risks and opportunities to enhance bid competitiveness.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all submissions adhere to industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.
* Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with project managers, clients, and technical teams to refine bid proposals.
* Proposal Documentation: Prepare detailed technical and commercial documents, ensuring timely submission.
* Post-Tender Support: Assist with bid negotiations, clarifications, and contract finalization.
Requirements
* Degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
* At least 5 years in tendering, estimating, or bid engineering within electrical infrastructure, renewable energy, or power distribution sectors.
* Understanding of EBoP components, including substations, transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
* Knowledge of civil engineering aspects such as site preparation, foundations, and drainage.
* Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, IEEE, BS) and local grid regulations.
* Experience with estimating tools and Excel.
* Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
* Previous experience in tendering for renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
* Knowledge of contract frameworks (NEC, FIDIC, or JCT).
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards accreditation.
