Responsibilities: Take overall responsibility for the safe planning, coordination, and execution of lifting operations on-site in compliance with statutory regulations, industry standards, and company policies. Develop and review lifting plans and method statements, ensuring all activities are appropriately risk-assessed and meet legal and operational requirements. Work closely with site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to coordinate logistics and ensure seamless project execution. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure lifting equipment and operations meet safety standards. Act as the primary point of contact for lifting operations, ensuring all personnel involved are trained and competent for their roles. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, contributing to a culture of safety across the site. Maintain and manage accurate records of lifting plans, certifications, and equipment maintenance schedules. Provide technical advice and guidance to the project team regarding lifting and logistics operations. Liaise with external stakeholders, including local authorities and clients, as required. Requirements: Proven experience as an Appointed Person on large-scale construction projects. A valid Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) qualification (e.g., CPCS or equivalent). Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and lifting equipment regulations. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders effectively. A proactive and solution-focused approach to challenges. Competency in preparing and reviewing method statements and risk assessments. Full UK driving license and flexibility to work on-site as required.
