Alzheimer Scotland is Scotland’s leading charity for dementia and brain health. Our aims are to prevent, care and cure dementia, and to make sure nobody faces dementia alone.

The Role
We are seeking applicants with a proven track record in leadership within a health and social care service (or related) background to work in this key senior role and make a positive difference to the lives of people living with dementia, those at greater risk of dementia, and the families and friends who care for someone with dementia.
Based in Inverness or Glasgow, the role will lead and manage local teams in a variety of locations and services. Full details about the role are provided in the job description available through the link provided.
The Person
You will have the right level of personal qualities, experience, knowledge, and qualifications, demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and high levels of emotional intelligence, with experience of managing people, supporting staff development, and promoting a positive culture. You will be an excellent communicator, highly organised with a collaborative approach to working with others to deliver shared objectives and drive continuous improvement in our practice. You will have a high-level knowledge and understanding of dementia and substantial experience in the management and delivery of services, holding a relevant practice qualification to meet the Scottish Social Services Council registered management requirements.

What You’ll Do
As Day Services Manager, you will be responsible for leading and managing high-quality, therapeutic registered day services and commissioned and non-commissioned community supports for people with dementia, those at greater risk of dementia, and their families and carers within the area.
You will ensure that services are of the highest quality, meet Alzheimer Scotland’s vision for unique therapeutic, highly person-centred support, and that our commissioned services meet all service level agreement, contract specifications, and Alzheimer Scotland’s quality guarantees.
You will have overall day-to-day responsibility for the services within the area and will be responsible for promoting the services with key local stakeholders within Health and Social Care as well as relevant other organisations. As Day Services Manager, you will manage the referral and assessment process.
You will work collaboratively with the Head of Services to ensure safe practice and delivery of high-quality, person-centred therapeutic day services, ensuring practice complies with Alzheimer Scotland’s policies. You will be responsible for evidencing, reviewing, and continually improving the quality of the services and will proactively participate in internal audit and Care Inspectorate inspections.
You will provide strong line management and leadership to your team, through setting clear objectives and outcomes, regular review within Support & Development processes, and undertaking appraisals.
What You’ll Have
The successful candidate will have experience of managing a team in a social care, health, or other similar setting or be able to demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of the key principles and good practice of effectively managing and leading a team.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the Health and Social Care Standards and SSSC codes of practice and the Care Inspectorate and their role in registered services.
Understanding and knowledge of dementia, mild cognitive impairment, and Brain Health and experience of working with or supporting people living with dementia and their families.
The successful candidate will have a recognised professional qualification in health, social work, or related field, to SCQF Level 7 (SVQ 3).
