The team advise on all types of (IP) disputes, with particular experience in disputes involving new and emerging technologies. The team is growing at a significant rate and is now seeking to hire another experienced Senior Associate to support the team's work in patent and emerging technology litigation. The role will be based in the firm's Birmingham office but you will be fully integrated into the UK IP team, working closely with colleagues in Manchester, London and Belfast. As a Senior Associate within the IP team you will be responsible for managing your own portfolio of matters whilst leading teams of more junior colleagues in all stages of IP litigation. You will also participate in and lead business development activities. Whilst the role is predominantly litigation focused there are elements of non-contentious IP work. Responsibilities Proactively manage own cases, working with a variety of partners Managing less experienced associates Corresponding with clients, counsel, experts and third parties Managing, coordinating and overseeing the performance of all essential steps in an IP litigation including: briefing counsel, managing disclosure, proofing witnesses and instructing expert reports Liaising with clients and handling matters with the appropriate sensitivity Responsibility for and management of an existing caseload Experience and Knowledge Experienced qualified lawyer Strong experience in IP litigation, particularly patent, copyright and technology litigation Experience in trade mark and/or design right litigation is valuable but not essential Strong academic record Excellent attention to detail and ability to work methodically essential Exceptional organisational/time management skills Reliable and professional manner High standards of client service and responsiveness The team Inclusiveness and Diversity At Fieldfisher, led by the social model of disability, we are working towards removing accessibility barriers and maximising disability and neurodiversity inclusion in our recruitment processes.
