The Patient and Family Support Team offers practical and emotional support to patients and families who are known to our Hospice services, including psychological support, social support, spiritual care, counselling and pre and post bereavement support. We have a new opportunity to join this team as a Chaplain, this is a part time role working 30 hours per week based at our Hospice in Cambridge. As our Chaplain you will be responsible for delivering spiritual, religious and pastoral care across our charity services as well as contributing to the Chaplaincy on-call rota with colleagues from Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Main duties will include: Developing coordinating and delivering spiritual care for patients and their relatives. Facilitating appropriate opportunities for patients of all faiths and beliefs to practice their faith and fulfil their spiritual needs Providing pastoral support to patients, carers, colleagues and volunteers. Arranging and conducting Remembrance Services, such as Light up a Life, as required for the bereaved and our supporters. To be successful in this role you will have a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Healthcare Chaplaincy and be registered (or willing to work toward) registration with the UK Board of Healthcare Chaplains (UKBHC.) Previous experience within a similar role within a healthcare setting and familiarity with the spiritual issues encountered in sickness, dying and bereavement is also required. Due to the nature of the role it is a requirement that candidates hold a UK driving license and have access to a vehicle which can be used for work. This role has a starting salary of £36,100, with opportunities to progress to £43,471. The salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro-rata’d for part time posts.
