This vacancy has come about due to the promotion of the present postholder. The Children’s Welfare Lead is a crucial role at Brownhill Learning Community (BLC). The BLC serves some of the most vulnerable, complex and challenging learners in the Borough
The Brownhill Learning Community (BLC)is a federation of Brownhill Special School and the Pupil Referral Service (PRS) who work together to provide education provision for school aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs who are out of the mainstream environment. There are 3 BLC sites across Rochdale and 1 site in Heywood. The postholder will work across all of the 4 sites across the borough.
Over the next 12 months the Governing Body for the Special school and the Management committee for the PRS are working closely with the local Authority to unfederate and separate the Special school from the PRS. This post will still be needed after the unfederation process has been completed
The successful candidate will also lead a team of Family Support workers (DSL’s) across the 4 sites and will work closely with the BLC Mental Health Team
The postholder will have the strategic overview of all aspects of safeguarding at BLC and are part of the Extended Senior leadership team
The successful candidate needs to start as soon as contractual possible
