This role needs an experienced Environmental Manager, with a broad environmental management background, to advise on groundwater working, environmental requirements, permit requirements, liaison with the Environment Agency (and interpreting EA language for the project team to understand), instruction and reviewing of technical documentation on behalf of teams responsible for the myriad environmental compliance and monitoring activities during the complex and broad construction activities of the High Speed Two build programme. You will provide advice and support to the construction team regarding the environmental constraints and management issues in the HS2 Sub-Lots. Responsible for managing, challenging and assuring construction EMR compliance, and ensuring these are fully integrated into construction design, site works and programme. Experience 5-10 years’ environmental experience on major construction projects Significant experience with either a consulting engineer, main civil engineering contractor or a specialist environmental contractor. Experience of environmental design and mitigation Broad experience of all aspects of environmental design and works and impacts on 3rd Parties Strong verbal and written communication skills High standard of computer literacy Confidence and experience to challenge designs prepared by others The following qualities/experience are desirable: Qualified Environmental specialist or a related discipline is desirable; membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous Holding a valid CSCS card to visit sites is desirable Very competitive packages are offered. There will be the need to visit the project offices in the West Midlands regularly.
