Newly Qualified ACA or ACCA Accountant, Woking, Surrey.
An excellent opportunity for a Newly Qualified Accountant with previous work experience in Practice. The successful candidate will begin their journey in this highly regarded firm as an Accounts Senior / Supervisor and enjoy a clear trajectory to Client Manager. This growing firm of Chartered Accountants has an enviable reputation in a niche market and has a strong track record of developing and promoting staff from within.
The role
This is a varied role and you will be responsible for a portfolio of Charity and Not-for-Profit clients, providing a wide range of accounting outsourced services and advice. You will work closely with the senior management team including the MD and help them provide excellent client service to a growing portfolio. The role involves occasional travel to client sites, mainly in Central London.
1. Managing workflow and accounts delivery for your portfolio, reporting internally to the Senior Managers and Directors
2. Overseeing the preparation of management accounts
3. Visiting client sites to support in-house bookkeepers and provide other advice and assistance.
4. Overseeing the preparation of draft statutory accounts, VAT returns and supporting year-end schedules for review.
5. Delegating appropriate work and providing support and supervision as required.
6. Design and set up management reports tailored to client requirements.
7. Arranging, preparing and running client meetings usually at client sites throughout Central London.
About you:
1. Recently Qualified ACA or ACCA (up to 3 years) with relevant experience in an audit or accountancy practice
2. Motivated to develop and progress your career within Practice
3. Experience in management / statutory accounts preparation
4. Ability to multi-task and service a portfolio of clients effectively and efficiently, achieving deadlines while understanding the commercial implications of productivity and client service.
5. Good knowledge of Xero / Sage 50 / Sage 200 or other accounting packages (desirable)
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including advanced Excel
7. A genuine interest in not-for-profit businesses and/or social enterprises with some previous experience in this sector is highly desirable
8. Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude
9. Ability to prioritise work and work to tight deadlines
