Associate Director of Assurance – Efficiency & Transformation Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced leader to join the team as the Associate Director of Assurance. You will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and expert guidance to ensure the delivery of transformational programmes and projects that enhance efficiency and improve patient care. Supporting the Director of Transformation, you will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, partner organisations and key stakeholders to embed a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Role Scope: Full-Time Hours: This is a full-time position with a standard workweek of 37.5 hours. Fixed Term Position: Join our team on a fixed term basis for 6 months. Key Responsibilities: Drive the delivery of complex, high-impact projects, explaining complexities to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Promote the efficiency and transformation programme and foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, engaging with local partners such as Primary Care Networks, GP Practices, and Social Care colleagues. Develop and implement performance monitoring, governance, and risk management processes to ensure robust reporting and accountability. Maintain an oversight of efficiency programmes across partner organisations. Participate in relevant internal and external working groups, projects, services, and initiatives to provide project information and analytical advice and expertise. Provide expert advice and guidance to executive teams on the achievement of financial and operational efficiency targets. Knowledge and Skills: Extensive experience of working within acute trusts delivering transformation programmes and/or assurance to transformation programmes Outstanding level of analytical skills and the ability to analyse highly complex facts and situations, including complex quality and financial information. Significant experience of strategically leading an assurance team to support services across a wide range of services. Strong experience of managing Cost Improvement Programmes. Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build credibility and rapport with diverse audiences. A solid understanding of the health and social care landscape, including policy, governance, and operational challenges in the NHS. Education and Qualifications: Educational Achievement: Educated to a master’s level or demonstrating equivalent experience in a healthcare or related field. Professional Certifications : Project Management Qualifications like PRINCE2 or MSP are highly desirable. Senior Management Experience : Candidates should possess extensive experience in a senior management role within the NHS or a similar healthcare setting.
