Our client is looking to recruit a Quality / Health & Safety Compliance Manager who will work closely with the Operations Manager to ensure compliance across all sites on all levels of food manufacturing and Health and Safety.
This role will include communicating across the whole business, from shop floor level employees up to higher management.
Main Tasks
1. Monitoring compliance of procedures.
2. Maintain and develop procedures and policies.
3. Develop and enforce an adequate training programme.
4. Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated and communicated.
5. Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and welfare at work, including recommended mandatory training and reporting.
6. Your main accountabilities will be to ensure relevant standards, HACCP based as appropriate, are communicated, understood, and applied to meet Food Safety, Quality, Legality, and customer specified requirements.
7. The standards must be documented and maintained within a recognised system.
8. You will effectively manage communication on all technical matters with colleagues, customers (both internal and external), and suppliers to develop relationships.
9. You will identify and implement Technical KPIs (Food Safety, Quality, and Legality) to monitor standards and drive the business forward through Continuous Improvement, whilst providing the practical support and drive to promote a Quality Assurance culture.
10. Responsible for managing any food safety incident in a professional, timely, and efficient manner, drawing lessons from the incident and implementing preventative measures.
11. You will deliver technical aspects of the business through personal and team objectives.
12. Help solve issues and actively implement solutions across sites.
13. Key knowledge of BRC, HACCP, Food hygiene & Health and Safety.
14. Experience in resolving non-conformances.
15. Conducting traceability exercises.
16. Document control.
17. Document audits.
18. Contributions concerning QMS and operational processes, where relevant to technical compliance.
19. Be responsible for the training and development of key staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Ability
1. Experience with BRC and audits.
2. Experience in quality management systems.
3. Previous experience working in a quality role.
4. Flexibility - willing to work outside normal working hours and travel between manufacturing sites.
5. Problem-solving skills, able to resolve issues within the scope of their role.
6. Detail-oriented and excellent problem-solving abilities.
7. Excellent planning and organisational skills.
8. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
9. Knowledge of Health and Safety.
