JR246: Mobile Engineer (Electrical)
Location: Along the M25
Salary: £45,000 Per Annum + 15% shift premium + company vehicle
Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Mobile Engineer (Electrical) on behalf of one of our clients. Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be given due consideration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The field engineers are responsible for commissioning, maintaining, repairing, and occasionally modifying power protection products. The product range consists of, but is not limited to, battery-backed rotary UPS systems, diesel UPS systems with both battery and kinetic energy storage, static UPS systems, and static and rotary frequency converters, including 400Hz aircraft ground power equipment.
Responsibilities include:
1. Ensuring timely arrival at the site with all necessary tools, spares, and equipment.
2. Preparing adequately for assigned tasks based on details provided from head office.
3. Maintaining a high degree of flexibility to meet changing customer demands.
4. Being prepared to work away at short notice and occasionally during out-of-hours.
5. Participating in a 24/7 on-call service, with the expectation to attend customer sites at any time.
Skills and Qualifications:
The candidate should ideally have a minimum of ONC, HNC, HND, or equivalent in Electronic/Electrical engineering, preferably with a bias towards power electronics. Additional qualifications include:
1. Knowledge of regulator and logic control systems, rotating machines, power rectifiers, and inverter drives.
2. Strong oral and written communication skills.
3. Flexibility and adaptability to change.
4. Willingness to travel nationally and occasionally to Europe.
5. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
6. Good self-organization and time management skills.
7. Proficiency in standard MS Office packages.
8. Practical, technical, and problem-solving skills.
9. Clean full UK driving licence.
