We have a newly created opportunity for an MI Analyst and Report Writer to join the team on a full- time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive rate of £26,107 - £27,882 per annum DOE.

About the role
About the role:
As the MI Analyst and Report Writer, you will liaise with college staff to interpret their data needs and to provide solutions by amending existing reports and creating new reports using SQL and Power BI.
You will work with college staff to ensure that use of Management Information is maximised to assist all staff in their work.
Responsibilities as our MI Analyst and Report Writer will include:
2. Ensuring the MIS function delivers a high quality, customer focused service for all internal and external stakeholders.
3. Submitting data/funding returns on time, ensuring that the data submitted is accurate and of the highest quality.
4. Highlighting data errors in funding returns and work with other departments to correct errors, finding solutions to prevent them from reoccurring.
5. Running PDSAT reports and work through these on a regular basis to ensure that they are error free.
6. Resolving issues and queries raised by managers in a timely manner.
7. Providing clear analysis to customers on funding and academic performance data
8. Working alongside the Senior report writer to maintain and further develop the production of core and ad-hoc reports for use by the college.
9. Providing information in a variety of visual formats including statistical reports, graphs and diagrams for use by internal and external clients ensuring the information presented is clear and unambiguous.
10. Taking a proactive approach in the creation and definition of information and reports, liaising with clients to accurately determine requirements, checking compliance to original request and undertaking comparison analysis for accuracy and to meet agreed delivery deadlines.
As our MI Analyst and Report Writer, you’ll ideally have:
11. An IT related qualification at Level 3 or higher
12. Excellent data analysis skills
13. A good understanding of the SQL language with an ability to write SQL statements with clear and easily readable code
14. Experience of Data warehousing techniques, query optimisation, multi data source reporting
15. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff
16. The ability and willingness to travel between sites and elsewhere if required.
17. The ability to work flexibly (some evening duty is required) to meet the needs of the College
