As part of the RE department, you will have the chance to work with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, encouraging them to understand and respect the variety of cultures and belief systems that shape the world around them. The school is committed to promoting diversity and fostering an environment where students appreciate the importance of understanding and respecting others, particularly in today’s multicultural society.
Your Role:
As a Religious Education Teacher, your role will be central to helping students develop critical thinking skills, learn about different religions, and understand how cultural and ethical values shape our world. You will:
1. Deliver engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons that spark curiosity and help students develop an understanding of the importance of religion and culture in both historical and contemporary contexts.
2. Encourage students to explore different belief systems, discuss moral dilemmas, and understand the ethical dimensions of various cultures and practices.
3. Help students appreciate the significance of cultural diversity and how it enriches our communities.
4. Foster an inclusive classroom environment where all voices are heard, and students feel comfortable exploring ideas and perspectives that might be different from their own.
5. Work with a supportive team to track student progress and help students reach their full potential.
What We’re Looking For:
1. PGCE or QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
2. A deep passion for teaching Religious Education and helping students connect with diverse ideas and beliefs.
3. Enthusiasm for engaging students in lively discussions that help them appreciate the importance of cultural understanding and tolerance.
4. A commitment to providing an inclusive and positive learning environment for all students.
5. Strong communication skills and the ability to foster relationships with students, staff, and parents.
