Role Overview:
As an English Graduate, you will embark on a rewarding career path in education, with the opportunity to work in vibrant, diverse secondary schools across London. You will receive support and mentorship as you work towards achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and your PGCE through a school-led training route.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the planning, delivery, and assessment of English lessons across Key Stages 3 & 4.
2. Work closely with experienced teachers to develop your teaching skills and classroom management techniques.
3. Participate in extra-curricular activities and school events to enhance student learning.
4. Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, inspiring students to develop a love for literature, language, and writing.
5. Provide tailored support to individual students and groups, ensuring progress for all learners.
Requirements:
1. A degree in English (2:2 or above) or a closely related field.
2. A strong passion for education and a commitment to developing your teaching career.
3. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
4. Ability to inspire, engage, and motivate students of all abilities.
5. A willingness to work as part of a team and take feedback constructively.
6. Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or volunteering in schools is desirable but not essential.
