MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB To oversee the development, delivery, and ongoing enhancement of the Trust's education programme. This includes effective project management, stakeholder engagement, and impact evaluation and delivery. POSITION IN ORGANISATION Member of the Management Team. Reports to the Director of Charitable Projects. Line manages the Education Officer (Scholarships) and freelance Education Officers. Collaborates with external partners as required. SCOPE OF JOB Education (Civil Engineering & Agricultural) – 50% To develop and deliver the Trust’s Education Plan, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities. To oversee the development of educational resources and events with effective task delegation and performance monitoring. To manage the delivery and evaluation of excellent scholarship programmes. To regularly report project progress, challenges, and outcomes to the Education, Grants & Archives Committee. Project and Stakeholder Management – 20% To develop and manage key relationships with stakeholders, including but not limited to schools, educational bodies, industry leaders, and external partners. To proactively identify collaboration opportunities to enhance the Trust’s educational impact through joint initiatives. To lead cross-departmental project teams, ensuring strong coordination and communication among internal staff and external stakeholders. To manage the Small Education Grants Programme. Monitoring, Research, and Impact Evaluation – 10% To design and implement robust monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure the effectiveness and impact of the Trust’s educational programmes. To analyse programme outcomes and use evidence-based insights to help inform future strategy and innovation. To commission and review research to ensure programmes reflect good practice. To ensure information about the work is effectively disseminated. External Communication – 10% To develop and manage communication strategies to promote the education programme. To collaborate with PR consultants to ensure effective messaging through press releases, social media, and website updates. Compliance and Risk Management – 5% To act as the Safeguarding Lead, ensuring safeguarding procedures are implemented across the Trust. To ensure relevant risks are identified and managed. To ensure compliance with relevant statute and regulations. To ensure compliance with the Trust’s policies within areas of responsibility. Other Duties – 5% To prepare and manage allocated budgets. To manage allocated staff including, performance, professional development, and appraisals. To undertake any such duties as necessary and directed to support the delivery of the Trust’s work. DIMENSIONS & LIMITS OF AUTHORITY Manages allocated budgets and holds a business charge card. Authorised to place orders for goods and services in accordance with the approved Financial Scheme of Delegation. Acts as project lead with decision-making authority within defined project scopes. QUALIFICATIONS Full UK driving licence essential. Project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) or relevant project experience, highly desirable Degree in an engineering, science, education-related field, highly desirable. EXPERIENCE Demonstrated project management skills, including project planning, delivery, and reporting. Experience building and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders, including schools, industry, and external partners. Strong understanding of the UK STEM education landscape. Proven experience in delivering education services, including planning and managing educational projects. Experience managing budgets and evaluating project performance. Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, and adults. High standard of written and spoken English. Strong organisational, IT (MS Office), and analytical skills essential.
