Maintenance Administrator
Location: Oxford

About the Role:
Are you a proactive problem solver with a knack for maintaining and improving facilities? Join our team at a prestigious university in Oxford as a Maintenance Administrator, where you'll be at the forefront of ensuring our campus remains a safe and well-functioning environment for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Rapid Response: Provide swift responses to address problems and breakdowns as they arise.
2. Routine Checks: Perform regular inspections of plant, infrastructure, and fabric, while monitoring the College’s computerised Building Management System (BMS).
3. Material Management: Identify and quantify materials needed for maintenance tasks, and collect materials from merchants using the College vehicle.
4. Chemical Safety: Ensure safe storage of chemicals and maintain accurate usage records in compliance with COSHH Risk Assessments and hazard data sheets.
5. Water Monitoring: Participate in legionella inspections and checks as part of the water monitoring regime.
6. Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records using PDAs or Tablets provided by the College.
7. Fault-Finding & Rectification: Conduct fabric, plant, and equipment fault-finding, rectification following service requests, and updating records.
8. Testing & Inspections: Perform testing and inspections as required by the preventative planned maintenance schedule, recording outcomes, and making forward maintenance recommendations.
9. Training & Development: Undertake necessary training and attend refresher courses to fulfil the duties of the post.
10. General Maintenance: Carry out emergency repairs and ongoing general maintenance work, including changing light bulbs, addressing lock issues, minor furniture repairs, and other basic repairs.
11. Future Maintenance: Identify and report future maintenance requirements to the Head of Maintenance/Supervisor.
12. Collaboration: Work with and assist other department members in day-to-day maintenance work, small works, and refurbishment projects.
13. Documentation: Ensure all fabric alterations are recorded on schematic and layout drawings and update Health & Safety files and maintenance manuals accordingly.
14. Equipment Management: Ensure correct use and maintenance of College equipment, tools, and test equipment. Report any calibration issues or damage.
15. Health & Safety: Adhere to the College’s Health and Safety Policy, carrying out duties safely and reporting potential hazards to the Head of Maintenance/Works Supervisor.
16. PPE Usage: Wear Personal Protective Equipment as required and carry out work safely.
17. Workshop Maintenance: Assist in keeping the maintenance workshop clean and compliant with safety regulations.
18. Communication: Carry a College radio at all times and communicate with other staff to minimize disruption.
19. Flexibility: Adopt a flexible approach to duties and show a willingness to take on new responsibilities and undergo further training.
20. On-Call Participation: Participate in the call-out rota and attend call-outs as laid out in the College On-Call arrangements.

* Proven experience in maintenance and general repairs.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication and record-keeping skills.
* Willingness to undergo further training and development.
