Robert Half are exclusively recruiting a newly created Financial Controller role on a permanent basis with a growing SME based in Swindon. This role offers scope to develop and build a team, implement controls and processes and support the business as they grow. We are looking for an ACCA/CIMA qualified Accountant with experience of leading a team and working in an SME.
The role
The Financial Controller will support the CFO, partnering closely with them. You will oversee the day to day running of the finance team, and will be pivotal in supporting the business as they grow. This role would suit a forward thinking, solutions orientated individual with proven leadership experience. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
1. Oversee all financial operations and activities including monthly management accounts production.
2. Prepare and present financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
3. Produce board packs for the CFO.
4. Support the CFO with duties as required.
5. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
6. Provide strategic financial guidance to support business growth.
7. Manage and mentor the growing finance team day to day, reporting into the CFO.
8. Drive process improvements and efficiencies within the finance function.
9. Implement and maintain accounting controls and processes.
Requirements:
10. Must be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
11. Proven experience in an SME business environment.
12. Strong commercial acumen and the ability to provide strategic financial advice.
13. Excellent technical accounting skills.
14. Proficiency in financial software and MS Office applications.
15. Strong leadership and communication skills.
