Quality Inspector (CMM Operator/Programmer)
Pay: £19.17 per hour
Location: Burnley
We're seeking an experienced CMM Operator/Programmer to join a well-established quality team. Proficiency in using and programming MCosmos is essential for this role.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will play a key role in the inspection of precision machined parts, conducting first-off, batch, and final inspections. You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate and program CMMs using MCosmos, along with manual precision measuring tools.
2. Conduct first-off, batch, and final inspections.
3. Ensure components meet drawing tolerances and customer specifications.
4. Collaborate with production and quality teams to address and resolve issues promptly.
5. Complete and log NCR reports, adhering to company procedures.
6. Support quality improvement initiatives and assist with corrective and root cause analysis.
7. Ensure measuring equipment is calibrated and fit for purpose.
8. Maintain and support Quality Management Systems (QMS).
Experience & Skills Required
1. Proven experience in precision engineering and quality inspection roles.
2. Proficiency in operating and programming CMMs (essential).
3. Strong working knowledge of precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, etc.).
4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications.
5. Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems (IFS experience is desirable).
6. Competent with Office 365 applications.
7. Knowledge of continuous improvement processes and quality standards.
Qualifications
1. City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
2. HNC/HND qualification is advantageous but not essential.
