As a Class 1 LGV Driver for our Transport Department, your responsibilities will include:1 Making bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide, ensuring timely and efficient transport of goods. 2 Driving a modern and well-maintained fleet on agreed shift patterns, delivering to HGV-friendly locations across the country. 3 Performing deliveries and collections that may involve trailer swaps or having your trailer live unloaded and reloaded, depending on individual customer needs. 4 Conducting daily vehicle safety checks and reporting any maintenance issues to ensure roadworthiness of the vehicle at all times. 5 Accurately completing and maintaining all required documentation, including delivery notes, vehicle logs, and tachograph records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. 6 Adhering to all road traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and legal operation of the vehicle. 7 Providing excellent customer service by maintaining a professional appearance and attitude, and effectively communicating with customers during collections and deliveries. 8 Safely loading and unloading trailers where needed, using appropriate equipment and following proper manual handling techniques. 9 Collaborating with dispatch teams, warehouse staff, and other drivers to ensure smooth operations and efficient route planning. 10 Promptly reporting any delays, accidents, or issues to the relevant supervisors or managers. 11 Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle, both internally and externally, to uphold the company's professional image.
