Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Freight Forwarder to manage the logistics and coordination of transporting goods domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of the supply chain process, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with regulations, and cost-efficiency. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt to the fast-paced logistics environment. Role Description This is a key role within the Commercial Team to maintain excellent customer service for Overseas Agents, Import Clients and a range of other selected clients. You will be expected to be proactive in the role and maintain and develop business relationships. Effective communication and close teamwork is key. Accountabilities To provide a consistent, VIP service to external salespeople, clients and agents Maintain consistent levels of accuracy in data records on all systems used in the role Maintain productivity at or above agreed levels To work as a team to demonstrate excellence in all aspects of the teams overarching purpose To demonstrate the core values of the company at all times Key Responsibilities: Deal with customer queries via telephone/email Monitor and maintain shared inbox Obtain pricing and provide quote and service information Undertake customer bookings and input data into Multifreight and other systems Liaise with Customers, sub-contractors, Suppliers and agents Check and send customer documentation Produce bills of lading Provide bill of lading instructions Carry out any other reasonable duties required by the business Networking and undertaking research, where necessary, to keep ahead of competition Persuading customers our high service levels will satisfy their requirements in terms of quality, service and price Interpreting and managing customer requirements speaking with clients to understand, anticipate and meet their needs Essential Attributes Excellent customer service ethic Be pro-active and motivated with the ability to turn negatives into positives Strong desire to satisfy customer needs and achieve results To have a pro-active and positive attitude - always looking for ways to improve Conscientious, hard-working and self-disciplined Having a willingness and ability to be flexible Active team player Competencies Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to overcome difficulties Ability to manage own workload and prioritise tasks Good IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Outlook Work effectively and calmly under pressure Ability to work on own initiative Ability to work to deadlines/targets for self and others Ability to multitask with a willingness to learn and cross over commercial teams, if and when required Highly self-motivated Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) Excellent organizational skills Attention to detail Qualifications: A good level of education in Maths & English Industry-related qualifications as agreed with your line manager Previous experience of working in a commercial environment or in a commercial coordinator position would be an advantage however, not essential as training will be given Extensive experience of working in import/export freight forwarding is required. Working hours: 9am to 5.15pm Monday to Friday Salary: £27-30k depending on experience
