Finance & Payroll Manager
Contact: 6-month FTC (potential view extend)
Location: Derby
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days in the office)
Hours: 9am - 5pm
Salary: £40,000
Start Date: December 2024
Reporting to the FD, as Finance & Payroll Manager, you will have end-to-end responsibility for the monthly accounts and payroll processes, alongside oversight of AR/AP, management reporting, and process improvement, to ensure sound financial management of the business. You will also have joint line management responsibilities of the Finance and Compliance Administrator.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Maintain robust financial systems, processes and controls, ensuring their effective operation.
2. Drive continuous improvement of policies, procedures and controls to ensure sound financial management.
3. End-to-end responsibility for maintaining accurate financial accounts and for month-end processes.
4. Review and analyse financial statements and produce monthly management accounts to the FD.
5. Assist with the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
6. Oversee sales ledger/accounts receivable, including ensuring tight credit control procedures.
7. Oversee purchase ledger/accounts payable, including preparation of weekly payment runs.
8. End-to-end responsibility of payroll processes, processing monthly payroll & pension filings.
9. Preparation and submission of company VAT returns.
10. Proactively support cost control across the business and produce weekly reporting of key budget lines.
11. Support the creation of budgets and financial forecasting.
12. Joint line management of the Finance and Compliance Administrator.
13. Advise the Finance Director on any matters relating to financial performance.
14. Participate in and support internal and external audits.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Part to fully qualified accountant, with excellent technical accounting knowledge.
2. Experience working with accounting software, such as Xero.
3. Experienced and technically proficient with Microsoft Excel.
4. Experience of running AP and AR.
