Role Overview
As a Snowflake Administrator, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing our Snowflake data platform. You’ll be responsible for ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability while working closely with cross-functional teams to meet data requirements and support business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Administer and maintain the Snowflake data platform, including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizing performance.
2. Implement and enforce best practices for data security, governance, and compliance within Snowflake.
3. Manage user roles, permissions, and access controls to ensure secure and efficient use of the platform.
4. Monitor system health and performance metrics, troubleshoot issues, and resolve them promptly.
5. Collaborate with data engineers, architects, and business teams to support data integration, ETL pipelines, and analytics workloads.
6. Oversee Snowflake storage and compute costs, optimizing for cost-efficiency without compromising performance.
7. Automate routine administrative tasks and contribute to process improvements.
8. Stay updated on Snowflake features and updates, proactively implementing enhancements to improve platform capabilities.
What We’re Looking For
1. Experience: 3+ years of experience as a Snowflake Administrator or similar role managing cloud-based data platforms.
Technical Skills:
1. Expertise in Snowflake architecture, features, and administration.
2. Strong understanding of SQL, database optimization, and performance tuning.
3. Knowledge of ETL/ELT processes and tools like Apache Airflow, Matillion, or Informatica.
4. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and integration with Snowflake.
5. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
Soft Skills:
1. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
2. Strong communication and collaboration skills to work across diverse teams.
3. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
4. Certifications: Snowflake-related certifications (e.g., SnowPro Core) are a plus.
