The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our Income Team which is based at the Civic Centre in Gravesend, and consists of 7 officers.
The role involves supporting the processing of miscellaneous income due to the Council and maintaining the Debtors’ System including the dispatch of recovery notices and creating debtors on behalf of departments. You will be responsible to the Income Manager for the collection and recovery of outstanding miscellaneous debts and recovery of corporate debts.
You will assist with the recharge of domestic service charges and commercial rents, involving dealing with members of the public.
In addition, the role will include clearing income suspense accounts daily, requiring a good degree of accuracy.
The role provides an opportunity to develop your customer service skills, together with time management, numerical, and accuracy skills.
Potential candidates should have a background in customer services, demonstrate the ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel, and have experience in accounts or a revenues field. In return, this position provides the opportunity to enhance your customer service and IT skills and expand your knowledge in debt recovery.
Interviews will be held in person the week commencing 24th March 2025.
About You
* To fulfil this role, you will be proficient in the use of IT packages including Microsoft Word and Excel and have proven administration skills with a methodical and well-organised approach.
* In addition, you will have a working knowledge of software packages and knowledge of cashiering or banking.
* You will also have proven customer service experience.
