Hours
20 hours a week, worked over 7 days.
11am start, working approximately 2 to 3 hours a day.
The Employer is flexible, with notice, and hours and schedule can be agreed at interview.
This job can be either one personal assistant doing all the hours, or it can be split into two roles, with one PA providing weekday cover, and another PA covering weekends. Please specify which hours you are applying for on the application form.
Rate
£11.44 per hour (increasing to £12.21 from 1st April 2025)

About the employer
The employer is a lady living in her home in Kettering. She is a wheelchair user. She has a brain tumour and other various health conditions. To be discussed further at interview.
Main Duties
• To assist the employer in the preparation and cooking of meals.
• Cleaning and tidying the kitchen afterwards, as necessary.
• Supporting the employer on local shopping trips, coffee shops or visiting country parks etc.
• Accompanying her to medical appointments
• A driver with a full licence and use of a reliable car (with a boot big enough to accommodate wheelchair) is preferred.
• Helping with laundry and carrying out light household duties to ensure the home is kept in a clean and tidy condition.
• Help with dressing when required.
• Personal care may be needed dependant on how the employer’s conditions are affecting her on any given day.
• Supporting the employer with correspondence and telephone calls as required. Therefore, a good level of spoken and written English is essential.
• Any other task which the employer may reasonably ask you to do which falls within the scope of the job as a Personal Assistant.
Additional employment information
The successful applicant will be friendly, able to give empathetic support, while respecting the employer’s independence but also able to take instruction.
Must be flexible, trustworthy and active with a good sense of humour.
Please note you will be directly employed by the person (or their representative) that you will be assisting. The Council is not the employer.
