Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Band 5 ITU Nurse to join our Critical Care team. The successful candidate will provide a high standard of nursing practice, supported by our multidisciplinary team. You will be expected to comply with the NMC code of Professional Conduct and demonstrate knowledge of Trust policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver high-quality clinical care in the ITU/HDU setting.
2. Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing practices.
3. Maintain accurate patient records and information systems.
4. Participate in research and evidence-based practice.
5. Support and manage change within the unit.
6. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
7. Ensure patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
Educational and Professional Development:
1. Assist in the development of educational programs.
2. Commit to continuous learning and professional development.
3. Maintain a personal and professional portfolio.
4. Provide mentorship and support to student nurses.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Must have an NMC registration.
2. Minimum of 6 months post-registration experience in an acute area (Medicine or Surgery).
3. Must have 6 months NHS experience within the ITU in the last 3 years.
4. Experience in a critical care setting is required.
5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
6. IT skills and experience with hospital databases.
