Band 4 Therapies Rehabilitation Assistant Community Stroke Rehab

Our Community Stroke Rehabilitation team in Enfield is looking for a band 4 rehabilitation assistant with experience working in a rehab role and the motivation and drive to develop their stroke skills. The postholder will work within an established team of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, neuropsychologist, and rehabilitation assistants. We also work closely with our stroke navigator, stroke buddies, and social service colleagues.
You will provide rehabilitation and stroke prevention care to clients under the supervision of the Senior Therapists within the team. You will be developed to take short term responsibility for the effective planning and delivery of care to non-complex patients in cooperation with other team members and in communication with other clinical team leaders or senior members of the team.
The post holder will work alone and will be required to use a degree of initiative while working within the parameters of the team's policies and procedures.

Main duties of the job
* To undertake clinical work delegated from the Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Speech and Language Therapists.
* To be responsible for a designated caseload of patients.
* To work effectively as a member of a team in providing a programme of community-based therapeutic activities.
Communication
* To contribute to the effectiveness of team working through timely and appropriate communication between all work colleagues within Enfield Community Services and its partner organisations.
* To maintain accurate timely written records of all interventions and communications including letter writing, sketch plans, and discharge reports.
* To use information technology for communication; voicemail, email, and word processing and collecting data for performance indicators/outcome measures on clinical information systems.
Information Management
* To be responsible for accurate recording of required data on patient management systems e.g., RiO.
Effort, Mental and Environment
* To be able to deliver and install temporary adaptive equipment in clients' own homes.
* To be able to operate manual handling equipment i.e., hoist, rota stands, mobility aids.
* To be able to perform therapeutic manual handling techniques with patients.
* To be able to operate computer systems after a period of training.
* To produce internal reports of clients' progress.
* To deal with a range of patients and carers who may be distressed.

North Mid in the Community are based at various sites around Enfield. This role would be based at St Michael's Site in EN2 OJB. We are ideally situated to the M1, M11, M25, A10, and A406. We provide physical rehabilitation and holistic assessments for Enfield residents living within the borough of Enfield.

Education and qualifications
* Training courses relevant to care group.
Skills and abilities
* Ability to work autonomously & set own priorities.
* Word processing and PC skills.
Experience
* Experience at working at band 3 level in a physical rehabilitation setting or experience within a social care setting.
* Previous multi-disciplinary therapy rehabilitation experience.
* Evidence of working with and caring for adults either in an acute, community NHS or social care setting.
* Knowledge and experience of working with patients who have physical health disabilities or impairments.
* Experience of using RiO.
Other Requirements
* A full UK driving licence.
* Car owner/driver for work purposes.
