This is a full-time position, working 37 hours per week.
Although this role will be based at our Knightstone Campus, you will be expected to travel to all of our Weston-super-Mare campuses to support the English provision across the college.
Day to day of the role
-The person appointed will be responsible for leading a team of academic staff in the successful delivery and development of high-quality English courses including GCSE and Functional Skills. The role will also include the support of vocational staff training in English. This is a cross-college role that serves 16-19 FTE students, WBLA students as well as part-time adults.
-The role requires effective communication and people management skills. The ability to motivate a team of staff and work collaboratively with leaders and managers across different vocational areas is essential. The post-holder will be expected to coach and support staff to develop effective learning strategies and pedagogical practice. The role will require a team player who is solution focused and able to work effectively with different members within a management team
Required skills and qualifications
-A relevant Degree, or professional qualification which is appropriate to the work.
-Knowledge and experience of current teaching and learning strategies.
-Ability to use data systems and analyse relevant performance data to identify and support improvement.
-Proactive and innovative approach to curriculum and design and delivery.
