As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping students with SEN overcome barriers to learning and thrive in the classroom. SEN TA Responsibilities: Deliver personalised one-to-one or small group support to students with Special Educational Needs. Assist in the implementation and monitoring of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and Individual Healthcare Plans (IHCPs). Modify lesson materials and teaching approaches to suit individual needs. Support students in building social, communication, and life skills. Foster positive behaviour, independence, and self-confidence. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide cohesive support. Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment for all students. Qualifications & Skills: Previous experience working with children with SEN as a SEN Teaching Assistant is essential. A recognised qualification such as CACHE Level 2 or 3, NVQ Level 2 or 3, or equivalent is required. Strong interpersonal, organisational, and problem-solving skills. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children. Experience in managing challenging behaviours is desirable.
