Job description
The Role
* Collaborate with the Production and Sales teams to develop and implement effective buying strategies to meet sales targets and customer demands.
* Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, pricing, and product opportunities.
* Negotiate with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and timely delivery.
* Support the Production and Sales Teams in the selection, evaluation, and onboarding of new suppliers.
* Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and customer feedback to make informed decisions on stock replenishment and product assortment.
* Assist in forecasting sales, monitoring trends, and identifying potential risks or opportunities in the market.
* Implement sustainable and socially responsible strategic sourcing practices, including supporting local suppliers and ethical sourcing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Previous experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
* A solid understanding of manufacturing operations and buying processes.
* Excellent analytical and numerical skills to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with suppliers.
* Experience with ERP systems.
* A good understanding of logistics and supply chain management.
* Successful contract negotiation skills.
* Experience dealing with the Balkan & Eastern European markets would be advantageous.
* Preferably speaking Russian or Latvian or experience with these nationalities.

Junction 4 Pallets is a family-owned supplier of new and used pallets to various industries across the United Kingdom. Based in Armthorpe near Doncaster and with an additional major site in Coventry, and further operations in Alloa, Scotland and Harlow.
As a 24 hour, 7 days a week business, we can offer our customers a full-service pallet operation from small one-off loads to multiple trailer loads a week. We make traditional standard wooden pallets and have contracts to supply bespoke pallets that are made to the size and design as required by our customers. We also purchase, repair and sell used pallets. A rapidly expanding area of our business is pallet services where we recover, repair & maintain companies' own pools of pallets on or off site. Our wide range of customers already includes some of the top companies in the UK.
Package:
* Competitive salary depending on candidate & experience.
