We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic midwife with excellent communication skills and organisational abilities to join our team to support newly qualified/early career midwives and student midwives.
The successful candidate will join our Clinical Preceptorship Support team and form part of the larger Maternity Quality team.
The post was developed following the publication of the Ockendon Report and this investment into maternity workforce is intended to support sustained improvement. The team covers the whole Trust and the post will be based equally across Lincoln County Hospital and Pilgrim Hospital Boston. This is a full-time vacancy; however, a job share may be considered.
Main duties of the job
This person will need significant post-registration leadership experience to join our team. They will need to be a strong, resilient, authentic leader, with expert knowledge around maternity safety and have a passion to support midwives.
The postholder will be responsible for overseeing the preceptorship programme, supporting the transition from student to newly qualified midwife. Acting as a role model, you will provide support for the preceptee midwives as they consolidate their learning and skills. As a member of the education team, you will work with the preceptee midwives to enhance their experience, build confidence and establish a strong foundation for their future career.

Qualifications
Essential
* Registered Midwife with NMC
* Degree or equivalent
* Evidence of relevant clinical updating
* Teaching and assessing qualification
* NIPE qualification or willingness to undertake
Desirable
* Master's Degree or equivalent
* Leadership qualification or completion of leadership programme
* Sign off mentor
* NVQ assessor
Previous Experience
Essential
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of the national vision for maternity services and the wider health service
* Able to demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement
* Minimum of 3 years Post Registration experience in all areas of Midwifery
* Proven ability to negotiate, persuade, influence, motivate and gain the respect of other healthcare professionals
