We have an excellent opportunity for a passionate game developer to join our Total War team as a Dialogue Engineer for a fixed term contract of 6 months.
Based at our well-established studio in the heart of Sussex in the UK, you will be working as a key member of the audio team on our next unannounced Total War title. In this role, you will be able to make a real impact on our games. You will bring your knowledge and experience to help push the boundaries of the strategy genre by collaborating with the wider development team - striving to make our titles better than ever before.This role would require on-site attendance for recording sessions on a regular basis.Key ResponsibilitiesAs part of our wider and experienced dialogue engineering team, you will work with a wide range of developers to deliver a AAA dialogue experience in line with the styling and feedback set out by the Audio Director.On a day-to-day basis you will:Take ownership of the production and delivery of Dialogue for both individual characters and group assets.
Cast and audition actors, directing the performance in line with a brief, recording and editing the final content and then implementing and mixing dialogue in-game using Wwise (and our in-house tools), to commercial standards for non-linear and linear usage.
Liaise with our internal quality assurance team and Development Managers to ensure dialogue testing is adequately covered.
Carry out voice design work using plug ins and specific recording techniques for non-humanoid characters.
Work with script writers and designers to ensure a rich dialogue experience which is both varied and believable.
Fix bugs.
Look to continually evaluate and improve the dialogue experience by keeping abreast of current successful titles and trends in dialogue production and implementation.
Knowledge, Skill and ExperienceEssentialMust have shipped at least 1 AA or AAA project as part of a game audio team.
Proven experience working with actors
Expert dialogue recording and editorial skills
Ability to record, track-lay and mix dialogue to picture to commercial standards
Use Reaper or equivalent DAW to advanced level
Proficient with industry standard Plugins, i.e. Fabfilter, Izotope RX
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Able to review work and present detailed and constructive feedback
Able to multi-task, assisting the planning and scheduling of dialogue production efforts while remaining quality focused and adhering to deadlines
Able to work as a team player and under own initiative
A keen interest in and a passion for audio in video games
DesirableHND in Sound Engineering (or above)
Acting coaching/voice direction experience
Experience with proprietary games development tools
Experience with creature voice design work or sound design experience
Knowledge and familiarity of Total War brand
