The Infected Blood Compensation Authority (IBCA) seeks a talented individual with excellent analytical skills to lead a business intelligence team to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of its services – in the interest of victims of infected blood.
IBCA is responsible for delivering a compensation scheme that has been long awaited by the infected blood community to provide financial compensation to victims of infected blood on a UK-wide basis. It is critical to get this right, and act fast which will rely on delivering high-quality business intelligence and performance assessment to create understanding, and give perspective that will help IBCA meet its objectives and solve problems along the way.
The postholder will lead the shaping, designing and development of data solutions to produce timely, accurate and accessible operational management information and analysis to support forecasting, managing fraud and assessing performance and efficiency so those infected are at the heart of policy and decision making in IBCA.

This role provides the opportunity to set up a critical business intelligence function.
As the lead intelligence analyst, you will define the strategy and delivery model for producing and disseminating operational insights that will inform the Executive Committee, policy and operational leads, other IBCA functions and across the UK government about how we get it right for the infected blood community.
You’ll build a close relationship with and understanding of IBCA business areas, in order to ensure that analysis and reporting is accurate and informative and supports this challenging and critical work – and work closely across IBCA to understand evolving requirements and ensure business intelligence products continually meet needs, playing a critical role in the introduction new reports and dashboards.
You’ll champion how your team can unpack data from across the organisation to tackle challenges IBCA will face including operational efficiency, forecasting, fraud mitigation & detection and more – as well as developing insights and confidently communicating these to stakeholders in ways that they connect best with.
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a drive for social impact to join the advanced analytics and intelligence leadership team and hit the ground running, quickly getting to grips with how we evaluate the success of a greenfield organisation set up at pace.
You will be a visible leader, providing both technical and strategic leadership to your team, as well as supporting a G6 to shape an advanced analytics and intelligence unit. You’ll confidently lead on business intelligence and be able to actively identify opportunities to create change, weigh up approaches and proactively deliver a vision.
