Position Summary
Experienced Senior Manager to support the Director of International Facilities and Real Estate in overseeing all aspects of facility operations and management in compliance with the objectives and directives of Global Facilities and Real Estate. The Senior Manager will have a strong background in engineering, strategic planning, construction in support of facilities management and project management across the regional portfolio along with exceptional leadership skills, and a proven ability to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of STERIS facilities. Projects will include but are not limited to Full Construction from ground up builds, refurbishments, relocations and dilapidations.
This role will be responsible for providing support to all sites as directed to ensure facilities are properly managed or maintained, in compliance with STERIS standards, and in accordance with all governing regulations and Global Facilities and Real Estate objectives and directives to ensure legal compliance, contractual compliance, and other requirements as may be required under the terms of a lease, license, or similar. The Senior Manager will provide project management support to all sites as directed by the Director, International Facilities and Real Estate in compliance with objectives and directives of Global Facilities and Real Estate.
The role will provide guidance, enforce compliance to corporate policies for facilities-based projects and operations while monitoring and reporting on facilities matters including vendor and contractor management.
The role will cover EMEA sites as directed by the Director, International Facilities and Real Estate in compliance with Global Facilities and Real Estate objectives and directives. The position will require regional travel.
Duties
* Assist the Director of International Facilities in developing and implementing strategic plans in line with the objectives of Global Facilities and Real Estate for EMEA facilities.
* Advise on operations of the EMEA facilities to align with objectives of the organization and Global Facilities and Real Estate, including maintenance, repairs, security, and janitorial services.
* Manage a team of EMEA facilities staff members, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
* Assist manager with project management to include collaboration with external project management vendors.
* Utilize digital drawing systems, such as CAD, AutoCAD, Revit, and other similar tools.
* Assist with data collection and management of facilities assets for use in preventative maintenance and capital planning.
* Assist with implementation of STERIS and Global Facilities and Real Estate sustainability initiatives and projects.
* Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
* Act as a liaison between facility director and facility staff, providing regular updates on facility operations.
* Assist with development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Monitor facility and project-based budgets and expenses.
* Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent issues affecting EMEA facilities.
* Assist with management and review of professional appointments and contracts.
* Support records retention for governance across all STERIS EMEA sites.
* Attend global functions as organized by Global Facilities and Real Estate.
Education Degree
Required Experience
* 5+ years’ experience within projects related to facilities and Architectural or Engineering type position.
* 5+ years’ knowledge of building operations, mechanical and electrical systems and best practices.
* 5+ years’ knowledge of building maintenance, repair, construction, materials, and equipment.
* 3+ years’ understanding of accounting and finance principles.
* 3+ years’ ability to read and understand architectural drawings.
* 3+ years’ experience with reviewing tender/bid offers.
* 3+ years’ experience with sustainability in the built environment.
Preferred Experience
* 3+ years’ experience with contracts, leases or similar.
* 5+ years’ experience within projects related to construction.
* 5+ years’ experience with mechanical, electrical, and structural design.
* 5+ years’ experience with architectural building design.
* 5+ years’ experience with digital drawing and drafting systems.
* 5+ years’ experience with CAFM systems.
