Position Summary:
The Corporate Finance and Strategy group provides analytical and transactional support to the NBA league office and to our 30 teams, with the goal of enabling the NBA to achieve its long:term financial targets. This group is also responsible for owning the NBAs near:term and long:term financial models, forecasting and analyzing the effects of the NBAs revenue sharing system across teams, helping to optimize the capital structure and grow the franchise values of our 30 teams, and providing support for board of governors meetings and board committee meetings.
The Corporate Finance and Strategy, Senior Financial Analyst will play a crucial role in furthering the groups efforts. This individual will perform extensive financial modeling and analysis as part of our group's support of NBA teams and strategic league:wide initiatives, become a subject matter expert in the NBA's unique financial systems (including revenue sharing) and reporting, and provide insight and support on other value:add financial analysis for senior management.
Major Responsibilities:
:Update and enhance the NBAs near:term and long:term financial forecast models
:Build additional financial models and analyses in support of individual NBA team transactions and strategic league:wide initiatives
:Support quarterly team and league financial projection process, including analysis of team:submitted forecasts, integration of data from multiple sources, production of internal financial reports, and communication of key themes and implications to finance leadership
:Track and analyze the effects of the NBA's revenue sharing system across our 30 teams
:Assist in the creation of presentation materials for NBA board meetings and other senior management requests
:Collaborate with team members to provide quarterly and annual financial reports to our 30 NBA teams along with ad hoc benchmarking analyses to help drive informed decision making
:Monitor the performance of comparable public companies across a variety of growth and capital structure related metrics and perform other related market research
:Provide other ad hoc financial analyses and scenario planning support as necessary
Required Education/Professional Experience:
:Bachelors Degree required, preferably with a major in Finance/Business
:Minimum 2+years relevant finance experience
:Preferred 2+ years of investment banking, equity research, corporate finance, or equivalent experience
Required Skills/Knowledge Attributes:
:Comfortable building complex financial models from scratch and able to quickly digest and adapt existing models
:Highest standards of accuracy and precision with deep attention to detail
:All:Star level of proficiency in Excel and comfort working in PowerPoint
:Outstanding problem:solving skills and a solution:oriented approach
:Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to explain and defend analyses, and distill complex information into digestible insights

:Experience balancing multiple simultaneous projects and workstreams in a dynamic, fast:paced environment

Salary Range:110,000 : 125,000
