Early Help Support Worker
Balsall Heath, Birmingham
Salary - £24,295 pro rata per annum.
Contract type - Fixed Term (until 31st March 2027)
Working hours - Part Time (22 hours per week)

About the role
We are currently recruiting for an Early Help Support Worker to join our team in Balsall Heath. Fixed Term until March 2027 on 22 hours per week. This role is a job share.
The aim of this role is to make a positive difference for children, young people and families in Hall Green and Selly Oak constituencies that results in:
* Healthy, happy, resilient children and families.
* Families supported to make positive changes.
* Children able to attend, learn and achieve at school.
* Young people ready for and contributing to adult life.
* Children and young people safe from harm.
The post holder will work with a multi-agency team of family support officers, community, voluntary and statutory services. As the role focuses on children and young people’s health, wellbeing, and education, there will be a need to work closely with statutory, Birmingham Children’s Trust and community partners to help meet the aims stated above and implement structured change for the family.
You will be required to deliver light touch work with families for 4-6 weeks maximum with the completion of a start and end Early Help Wheel and closure form for Payment by Results if there are 3 or more needs.
You will be required to do home visits where appropriate and necessary and in accordance with lone working policies. To do this you will be expected to travel independently across the contract operating area of Selly Oak and Hall Green constituencies and may occasionally need to visit other areas to meet with professionals or families.
Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require a DBS check to be completed. Further details will be sent following offer.
About you
NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care is essential for this role.
For this role, you will have Safeguarding and multi-agency working experience.
This role requires you to have the ability to travel independently.
You will be able to manage difficult conversations and conflict effectively.
This will also include an understanding of the importance of adapting to new working approaches and contributing to the design of processes to add value, simplify operations, and support good relationships.
You will have experience in dealing with complex problems that have a variety of solutions and working with families and professionals to establish a consensus for the best one.
Please note that if you are successful in this role, we will require evidence of the required certificates and qualifications for this role. Without this evidence, you would be unable to commence employment at GreenSquareAccord.
