Are you a confident Teaching Assistant (TA)? Do you enjoy making a real difference to teenagers' lives? Have you got a good sense of humour? Then look no further! We are recruiting two Teaching Assistants (TA) and a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for an exciting secondary school in Swindon.
The school is mainstream, but has some students with SEND and SEMH needs, so you will need to be highly adaptable.
Teaching Assistants (TA):
These roles are very varied as you will be working across the school, perfect for someone who is proactive and enjoys working with a range of people. In these roles, you will support a few pupils 1-1 during lessons, or sometimes be a general classroom assistant. You will need to be happy to get stuck in, as one day you may be helping out with scientific experiments, and the next you could be supervising a messy art lesson! For these roles, you must be highly proactive, approachable, and maintain good behaviour management.
Learning Support Assistant (LSA):
This role will be stationed in the Learning Centre. You will work in a small team to support students' learning outside the mainstream classroom. This may mean leading interventions for small groups or working 1-1 with a student who needs extra support. You will work closely with a full-time behaviour specialist in the Centre to support students who have left their lessons for SEMH reasons. For this role, you need to be calm, empathetic, and able to develop strong relationships with pupils to support them with their work.
These roles are full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, not including holidays. Please note that for all roles, you MUST have a DBS on the Update Service or be able to obtain one.
