About The Role Morrisons is looking for a proactive and experienced Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer (Facilities) to join our team at our meat manufacturing site. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the smooth operation of the site’s facilities, ensuring equipment and infrastructure are functioning efficiently and safely. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the site remains compliant with safety standards, addressing both preventive and reactive maintenance tasks. If you’re highly skilled across a range of trades, have strong problem-solving abilities, and are familiar with working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, we want to hear from you Key Responsibilities: Perform planned and reactive maintenance across the site's facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. Conduct inspections, repairs, and improvements on the site's utilities and infrastructure (boilers, lighting, water systems, compressors, etc.). Ensure minimal downtime by diagnosing and fixing facility-related issues promptly. Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to ensure site safety and compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and ensure all work is compliant with internal procedures and external regulations. Manage contractors and suppliers as needed for larger repairs or installations. Continuously look for opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of site facilities. About You As well as the ability to work at pace, we're also looking for someone who has: Proven experience in a similar multi-skilled maintenance role, ideally in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment. Recognised qualification in a relevant trade (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or facilities management). Strong knowledge of facilities systems including HVAC, boilers, water treatment, and electrical systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. A proactive and hands-on approach with a commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety. Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work shifts and respond to call-outs as required.
