About the Role:
My client, a leading defence and intelligence technology provider, is seeking a talented and experienced Automation Tester to join their team in Cheltenham. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of innovative and mission-critical solutions within the national security and defence sectors. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts to ensure the quality and security of software products.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts and frameworks for mission-critical software solutions.
* Collaborate with development and QA teams to understand requirements, identify test scenarios, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
* Execute automated test cases, analyze results, and identify issues to ensure software meets quality and security standards.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and other stakeholders, to drive continuous improvement in test automation and quality processes.
* Participate in design and code reviews to maintain high security and quality standards.
* Provide detailed documentation and reports on automation results, highlighting potential issues and providing suggestions for improvements.
* Stay updated with the latest automation testing tools, trends, and best practices to ensure efficient and effective testing processes.
Requirements:
* Must hold an active enhanced Developed Vetting (eDV) clearance due to the sensitive nature of work.
* Proven experience in automation testing, preferably within the defence, national security, or intelligence sectors.
* Strong proficiency in using automation testing tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
* Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
* Ability to write complex SQL queries for data verification and validation.
* Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Java, or similar.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work onsite in the Cheltenham office.
