Our charity shops play a crucial role in raising funds to help us deliver care and to support local people. We are currently seeking a proactive and organised Deputy Shop Manager to join our Barlaston Shop team. As the Deputy Shop Manager, you’ll work closely with the Shop Manager to support the daily operations of our Barlaston shop. You’ll play an essential role in leading a team of volunteers, helping to drive sales, and ensuring the shop runs smoothly in the manager’s absence. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with retail experience and a passion for charity work. Key Responsibilities Support the Shop Manager in overseeing daily shop operations, including opening and closing procedures Assist in motivating and managing a team of volunteers, creating a welcoming and productive environment Help with sorting, pricing, and displaying donations to maximize sales Provide exceptional customer service and ensure high standards are maintained Take on leadership responsibilities in the Shop Manager's absence Oversee till operations and cash handling accurately and efficiently Maintain a safe, organised, and clean shopping environment About You We’re looking for an enthusiastic Deputy Manager with a can-do attitude and a commitment to supporting Dougie Mac’s mission. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a proactive approach to help the team succeed. Ideally, you’ll have: Previous experience in retail, preferably in a charity or high street shop setting Strong leadership qualities to support and guide volunteers A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and cover shifts, including weekends An eye for detail and creativity to help present the shop attractively Why Join Dougie Mac?
