UM is the dedicated media division within McCann Central, the UK’s largest integrated agency. Over 500 individuals working together to help brands play a meaningful role in people’s lives.
As Head of SEO you’ll be a key part of our digital media team, where you’ll lead client relationships, helping them get their brands noticed by developing innovative and impactful campaigns.
Who we are:

We’re looking for an experienced SEO practitioner to develop and deliver SEO strategy for a variety of high-profile clients, spanning a diverse mix of industries, from travel to ecommerce and technology.
You will be responsible for developing SEO strategy, working closely with existing clients, presenting proposals, and pro-actively making recommendations to clients.
As someone immersed in the digital media industry, you’ll proactively keep up to date with new developments in SEO, whilst actively researching, testing and proposing new approaches to improve search engine rankings, as well as site conversion rates where applicable.

In three months, you would have:
1. Established fluid working relationships with your SEO team, the planning & management teams, and your main client stakeholders.
2. Adjusted to the day-to-day flow of your role and successfully integrated into your client workstreams.
In six months, you would have:
1. Led the discussion on SEO in client meetings and internal meetings.
2. Become the trusted SEO contact for senior stakeholders at the agency.
3. Consistently delivered best practice and improvements in SEO as part of ongoing roadmaps.
4. Trained our SEO Executive on best practice SEO techniques.
In 12 months, you would have:
1. Developed robust SEO roadmaps for a variety of clients.
2. Proactively identified new ideas and opportunities to key clients you work with.
3. Become fully accountable for SEO revenue and forecasting on the clients you work with.
4. Been involved in pitching for new SEO clients, as part of a team.
5. Elevated the SEO team to be the best that they can be, and built a strong morale in the team.
Responsibilities of the role:
1. Clear ability to interrogate client briefs to reveal a new perspective on the challenge for SEO.
2. Demonstrating broad digital media knowledge and deep expertise in SEO.
3. Experienced in preparing and delivering client strategies, SEO proposals and plans.
4. Experience in using Deep Crawl, Moz, SEMrush, Screaming Frog or other industry standard SEO tools.
5. Confidence in articulating SEO strategy and plans that both excite and provoke clients.
6. Ensuring SEO best practice is adhered to.
7. Integrating campaign strategies with other digital channels such as PPC as well as with ATL media e.g., TV, OOH.
8. Building strong internal, cross-departmental working relationships.
9. Billings and revenue management.
10. Demonstrating commercial accountability on client accounts.
