We’re seeking a dynamic Senior Manager, Steel to join our Naval Architecture and Outfitting Chapter to help deliver innovative and sustainable cruising, based within our site office in Papenburg Site. Role Overview You will be a specialist in Carnival Corporate Shipbuilding, and recognised expert within and outside your own discipline. As a chapter member, you will play a vital role within a dynamic and agile team, contributing to technical excellence, sharing specialized knowledge, and actively collaborating with fellow team members to foster innovation and achieve excellence. You will be a recognised representative for the Steel discipline in interactions with key stakeholders (brands, corporate entities, consultants, and external bodies, etc.) and other CCS departments. As a Senior Manager, Steel, your main tasks will be around construction and inspection supervision of hull construction in Meyer Werft, Papenburg. There may also be the occasional requirement to travel to external production sites located mainly in Poland. In addition to this your skills and expertise may be required to support the ship design, plan approval, commissioning, sea trials, and final acceptance processes, for newbuilds as well as post-delivery support as directed by project demand. Key accountabilities include: Deep understanding of technical plans, documents, drawings, procedures related to ship steel design and hull construction, understanding of other disciplines (like painting and outfitting) is desired. Provision of surveying, inspection and commissioning services within allocated discipline, including dry-dock and sea trials. Responsible for environmental compliance during all construction and testing phases. Required Qualifications and Skills Degree in relevant engineering discipline, welding technology and NDT inspections Chartered Engineer Proven technical experience in the marine industry such as shipbuilding, classification societies or ship operators, technical suppliers, or engineering firm in a senior position.
