We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our children's community Speech and Language Therapy team to work with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication needs. We welcome applications from newly qualified therapists.
Main duties of the job
As a valued member of the team, you will manage a demanding but rewarding workload in order to provide an efficient and effective service. You will be a confident, self-directed individual with a strong team focus as well as being able to work independently when required. You will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills in order to maintain our exceptional standards of care when liaising with parents and both internal and external agencies.

In this role you will work with children and the people most proximal to them, providing assessment and interventions for speech, language and communication needs.
Person Specification
Qualifications and Professional Training
* SLT degree or recognised equivalent
* Registered member of RCSLT
* Registered member of HCPC
Experience & Knowledge
* Clinical experience during training has been varied and must include access to adult caseloads
* Can demonstrate theoretical knowledge about communication difficulties in several client groups.
* Any additional work experience with members of the public
* Awareness of Total Communication
Skills & Attributes
* Apply knowledge to clinical experience gained during training and/or work opportunities.
* Demonstrate an awareness of Continuing Professional Development.
* Demonstrates good auditory discrimination skills and ability to transcribe speech phonetically.
* Recognises the importance of team working
* Understands the principles of prioritisation
* Ability to produce own equipment using photocopier, computer graphics etc.
* Ability to use video/digital camera.
Personal Qualities
* Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, including observation, listening and empathy.
* Can convey ideas and information in a confident and easily understood manner, both written and verbal.
* Adaptable to a varied and frequently changing work environment.
* May be required to work in difficult, distracting environments and with very young clients and will require ability to give intense concentration.
* Awareness of the importance of reflection.
