Import/Export Clerk

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Import/Export Clerk to join our client’s team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating the import and export of goods, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and documentation requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and process import/export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, and procedures.
* Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, and trucking companies to arrange transportation of goods.
* Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve any issues that may arise.
* Communicate with clients, suppliers, and customs officials to provide updates and resolve any discrepancies.
* Maintain accurate records of all import/export transactions and ensure proper filing of documents.
* Assist in the preparation of quotes and invoices for clients.
* Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and company policies.
* Provide support to the logistics team as needed.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in import/export operations or freight forwarding is essential.
* Strong knowledge of customs regulations and international trade laws.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
Benefits:
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 depending on experience
Bonuses paid 2 x per year (January & July) after 6 months service
28 days holiday including bank holidays
