Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Surface Mount Assembler for a local electronics company based in Newcastle Under Lyme.
About the Role
As a SMT Machine Operator, you will be responsible for the setting up and operation of the SMT machines to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the lines, in compliance with relevant policies and procedures, to set standards and targets.
Main Responsibilities:
1. To set up and operate SMT machines
2. To complete effective and efficient job change overs
3. To prepare or seek preparation of materials, tooling and kitting aids prior to starting a job
4. To inspect the product to ensure a high standard
5. To carry out general production work where required
6. To inform supervisors of faulty machinery or production issues
7. To adhere to health and safety standards, quality standards, policies and procedures
8. To adhere to the production schedule
9. To adhere to operational procedures and production timelines
10. To carry out lean manufacturing processes and 5S
11. To provide improvement ideas to the Production Supervisor
12. To collaborate with technical and quality departments when required
Essential Qualifications:
1. Excellent attention to detail
2. Strong teamwork skills
3. A technical mind and ability to work with your hands
4. Working knowledge of relevant machinery and equipment
5. Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards and procedures
6. Good communication skills at all levels
7. Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
8. Continuous learning and development
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Background in Electronics Manufacturing
2. Lean manufacturing and 5S
Job Details
Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, UK
Hours: 39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday - 8.5 hours
Friday - 5 hours
Salary: £10.81ph
Holidays: 20 days plus Bank Holidays (increases by 1 day per year worked to 6 days extra)
