An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a full-time planned works maintenance supervisor to join a provider of affordable housing based in Cornwall. You will join a busy and energetic property-service function which takes on day-to-day responsibility for delivery and coordination of a high quality, effective value for money customer-focussed service, ensuring projects achieve the required quality and targets. Your newpany are a not-for-profit, charitable provider of social and affordable housing, with stock of 5,000 properties located across Cornwall.
Your new role
Working as a supervisor within the property services team, you will undertake a number of key essential responsibilities. These include, the provision of effective and efficient line management of operational staff who undertake the delivery of construction works associated with planned programmes of work - these staff include multi-trade operatives, carpenters, plumbers and electricians. In addition, you will ensure that all works undertaken meet the required standards in relation to timescale and quality. You will be the first point of contact where problems or issues may arise, and take responsibility to resolving them with operational staff or building contractors.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role, you will need to possess a qualification in a relevant building trade to NVQ level 2, or be educated to an A level or level 3 qualification. You'll need to demonstrate excellent knowledge in the building and property maintenance sector, including current CDM regulations, and also have prior experience leading a team within a planned work setting (kitchen, bathroom, windows, doors or other planned maintenance works on residential properties).
