Oakley Food Projects are here to meet the needs of food, drink and pharmaceutical manufacturers in the UK looking to move, expand and future-proof their production facilities.
The primary purpose of this role is to partner with the commercial director to ensure the financial arm of the business is kept up to date and accurate. You will be required to work with all other departments to achieve this aim, and your key responsibilities can be found below.
Experience in a construction/fitout industry would be preferred along with experience and understanding in project accounting and CIS/DRC.
Responsibilities
* Management of entire group accounts, four in total
* Budget forecasting by department on a weekly basis and produce weekly reports
* Management of the companies bookkeeper (remote worker)
* Monthly budgets and forecasts, including setting financial targets and budgets each year
* Ensure that financial records are up to date and reporting is completed in a timely manner
* Approving payment runs
* CIS returns – includes filing the return monthly, corresponding with subcontractors to get the CIS registration information, verifying with HMRC, sending out subcontractor statement of deductions
* Payroll preparation
* Liaise with company accountants and payroll provider
* Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors via email, and liaise further with the wider internal team if required
* Lead the month-end process, including payroll, project accounting (deferred income releases, valuations and accruals), prepayments and depreciation journals, and management accounts reports for directors (at group level)
* Chase aged receivables
* Supplier payment runs
* Checking and filing of quarterly VAT returns
* Statutory (year-end) filing preparation, including liaising with auditors where necessary
* Budget creation and management on a departmental basis

* Competent and familiar with Xero
* Previous use of Procore would be very useful, but not absolutely essential
* Project accounting in a fitout/construction industry would be preferred
* CIS/DRC
* Excellent communication skills and working well in a team.
* Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
* Work systematically to ensure completion of tasks to meet deadlines and expectations.
* Flexibility and the ability to establish priorities and change them when needed.
This is an office based role.
Monday to Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-4pm.
