Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain site Quality Management System to ensure compliance with customer Codes of Practice and all required standards and legislative requirements.
* Main point of contact for internal and external audit schedules and corrective action systems, as well as deputising for the Technical Manager.
* Supplier assurance, raw material risk assessment, and approval systems; ensure compliance of new processes and products within the HACCP system.
* Understand computer systems (e.g., SAP, Arolink) and focus on continuous improvement of these processes.
* Liaise with customers regarding technical services and participate in investigating and documenting responses to non-conformities raised via customer complaints and audits.
* Deputise for the Technical Manager and provide support to the site QA Manager and team, as well as technical admin and any technical placement graduates.
* Create a culture of awareness and commitment to the highest standards of quality & food safety, leading by example.
* Work confidently and professionally in a customer and auditor-facing role.
* Maintain a hands-on approach with a proactive presence in production areas.
* Experience in a similar or related field such as QAM / QA Supervisor / Auditor role within a food manufacturing business is essential.
* Lead Auditor trained or of this calibre, with strong influencing and relationship-building skills.
* Achieve objectives through building effective relationships with others; be an assertive and confident team player.
