We have an exciting new opportunity to join our Tax team based in York or Bristol. The team provides expert tax services to the UK companies within the group and Aviva Investors (as manager of a range of regulated and unregulated funds). The role involves working with colleagues across multiple locations.
A bit about the job:
This role will primarily focus on UK corporate tax compliance, reporting, and advisory work. You will need to manage your own workload, which will include a range of items of varying size and complexity, with short-term and longer-term deadlines. You will monitor progress against plans and re-prioritize as required.
Daily responsibilities include:
1. Preparation of company tax calculations and disclosures for internal accounting and external reporting purposes.
2. Completion of statutory company tax computations and tax returns for submission to HMRC, including review of expenses and CTSA payments as required.
3. Preparation of tax documentation and supporting information in various formats (e.g., Word, Adobe, Excel, PowerPoint).
4. Data analysis and validation to source systems to ensure accuracy and completeness.
5. Applying data analytics, automation techniques, and relevant software to improve processes and support the tax compliance, reporting, and advisory deliverables of the UK Tax team.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* The successful candidate will be an accountant, part-qualified tax professional, or similarly qualified by experience (industry or practice).
* UK corporate tax compliance and reporting experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
* You should be a team player with an open, collaborative, and proactive approach, willing to embrace change and seek process improvements.
* Strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel, are essential, along with good document editing capabilities.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required.
