The Digital Accessibility Manager plays a key role in this mission. Reporting to the Digital Accessibility Lead, you will form a key part of the growing Digital Experiences team within KPMG’s internal technology function. You will drive our digital accessibility strategy by ensuring that technology solutions enabling people to work are accessible to all and that individual technology accessibility needs are met.
What will you be doing?
* Support the provisioning of assistive technology to colleagues as part of the workplace adjustments process. This includes assistive technology license management, relationship management of our technology vendors, knowledge management, assessment of technologies, training to technology support teams, and supporting with ad-hoc colleague queries/issues.
* Drive a culture of accessibility by delivering firm-wide accessibility training, creating learning content, running the accessibility champions group, and representing KPMG at conferences and industry events.
* Report accessibility risks to senior stakeholders across the business and translate the impact of risks into business context.
* Advise technology projects in defining accessibility requirements, scope, and approach as part of the firm’s wider technology creation and approval process.
* Support various teams in designing accessible technology solutions and remediating accessibility issues in existing solutions.
* Engage with vendors, project managers, and other stakeholders to communicate the value of accessibility and ensure it is considered in all our technology.
What will you need to do it?
* Experience using and/or managing provision of assistive technology such as JAWS, NVDA, Dragon, ZoomText, and Windows/Mac native accessibility features.
* Knowledge of and experience applying Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2.
* Basic knowledge of how accessibility is implemented in HTML, CSS, and ARIA.
* Basic understanding of accessibility in content creation, including PowerPoint, PDF, Word, etc.
* Good oral and written communication skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Comfortable working with ambiguity at the beginning of projects, with ability to provide clarity of direction despite this.
* Ability to review technology solutions against WCAG 2.2 criteria and articulate impact of any shortcomings to technology teams.
Skills we’d love to see/Amazing Extras:
* Experience in leading complex projects with input of/output to various stakeholders in different business lines.
* An interest in and knowledge of the accessible technology market and trends.
* Experience supporting accessibility within one or more of the following technologies: PowerBI, Power Apps, Appian, ServiceNow, and SAP.
* Experience defining and delivering accessibility and/or technology strategy.
* Knowledge of UK and other global accessibility legislation.
* Experience working with both offshore and onshore teams.
